🏅 Singapore Accreditation Council Celebrates New Accreditations

The Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) recently celebrated the achievements of 48 newly accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies (CAB) at SAC Customer Day 2025. Under the theme "Navigating Global Challenges, Shaping Our Future," discussions highlighted emerging sectoral and market trends as well as the critical roles that accreditation and conformity assessment can play to address challenges and capture new opportunities.

Working together with CABs remains key to strengthening Singapore's Standards and Conformance ecosystem. SAC continues its commitment to supporting CABs in building capabilities and seizing new accreditation opportunities amid an evolving global landscape.

🤖 AI Standards and Conformance: A Significant Leap Forward

Singapore has taken a significant step forward in AI governance with the adoption of ISO/IEC 42001 Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS) as a national standard and the launch of an accredited AIMS Certification programme. 🎊 Congratulations to SGS and Changi Airport Group for successfully completing the pilot for the SAC-accredited AIMS certification programme.

As AI-powered solutions become ubiquitous, AIMS empowers organisations to leverage AI whilst upholding trust, transparency, and accountability. Implementing AI solutions in alignment with internationally recognised standards and conformity assessment practices boosts stakeholder confidence and enhances organisational efficiency and profitability.

The rapidly evolving AI landscape will inevitably introduce more complex products and services, driving the need for new standards and conformity assessment practices. As various authorities step up their involvement to facilitate adoption and strengthen governance, fostering partnerships with both local and international stakeholders remains vital as we collectively shape the AI quality ecosystem.

📦 Digital Transformation in Freight Container Logistics

At the Container Depot and Logistics Association (Singapore) Lunar New Year dinner, Enterprise Singapore unveiled two key container logistics standards—SS 704 and TR 128—to streamline operations across the supply chain.

SS 704 keeps cargo moving without a hitch by ensuring container handoffs through the supply chain are logged with precision and specifying best practices in documenting equipment interchange receipts (EIR). TR 128 tackles congestion, reduces wait times, and enhances communication across the supply chain by digitalising key document processing, including those on port and depot time slot booking.

CDAS also launched its EIR solution, powered by SS 704. This fully digitalised system replaces paper, facilitating digital interoperability and swifter dispute resolution over container damages.
